What will come to your mind if you could hear the word - gymnastics? Perhaps, someone doing flips on a beam or tumbling across the floor? Well, gymnastics always have such moves. But those practices only represent some of its different types. In fact, there are seven official types and two of them are known as rhythmic and artistic gymnastics. What makes the two different? Which do you think is really best? Let’s see. Artistic Gymnastics In artistic gymnastics, both male and female participants are allowed to compete focuses mainly on balance, strength, and agility. They need to perform short routines on different apparatuses. Each score is summed up for a team total. Men’s artistic gymnastics is the oldest form but women’s is the most popular. While both men and women can participate and compete in artistic gymnastics, rhythmic is for women only. They need to perform on the floor with the use of special apparatuses. Routines are set to music and are great for people who love ballet and other graceful routines. Rhythmic gymnastics is a combination of art and sport which focuses on eye-hand coordination, grace, dance, and flexibility. Determining Which One is Best
There is no such word as best when it comes to choosing between artistic and rhythmic gymnastics. It’s a personal choice as both can provide awesome experiences. If you love ballet, dance, gymnastics, and fun of apparatus manipulation then rhythmic gymnastics might be good for you.
